It's a little more complicated than standard 2D paper snowflakes, but it looks great and is a great craft option for crafty kids who have patience and can wield scissors. As a result, we get three-dimensional decorative element in the shape of a snowflake with 6 tips/petals, which will be a wonderful decoration both in a suspended state - for a window or on a Christmas tree - and as a voluminous standing/lying decoration for festive table, shelves, etc. You can always make a snowflake with 5 petals - this way the result will look more like a flower.

6 equal-sized squares of paper - preferably white (the color of real snowflakes). Regular printer paper will work, or try sketchbook paper. The size of the squares should be about 10x10-25x25 cm. Smaller - it will be difficult to work with paper, larger - it will be difficult to attach the final decoration. The paper should not be thin and strong enough to support the structure of the snowflake;
- scissors;
- transparent adhesive tape;
- pencil;
- ruler;
- small stapler - the smaller the better;
- glitter glue (optional);
- regular glue (optional);
- double-sided tape (optional).

1. Fold each of the 6 squares in half diagonally - from corner to corner. If you don’t get a perfect double-sided triangle, it means you cut out not squares, but rectangles - fold the paper (according to the diagram described above) so that from one corner the edge lies evenly against the second edge and you get a triangle; Next, take scissors and trim the remaining - protruding - edge of the paper.

2. Turn one of the triangles with a fold line towards you, divide this line into 3 equal parts (make small marks with a pencil). Divide the two outer parts into 3 parts each in the same way. Take a ruler and a pencil, and draw lines through the fold marks, parallel to each of the side edges of the snowflake: the lines should not reach the center a little and should not intersect with each other. As a result, on each side of the triangle you will get 3 lines parallel to the corresponding face, and these lines will not converge in the center, and will not complete the drawn triangles - instead of a vertex, you will have small sections of paper between the ends of the lines. Make cuts along the marked lines with scissors.

3. Unroll the paper triangles. Place in front of you - one of them - with any of the two edges of the square, where there is paper in the middle between the cut lines, towards you, so that you highlight a diamond in front of you.

4. Carefully pry the right and left ends - corners - of the central, small rhombus in the workpiece, lift them up, and place one on top of the other: this is how you sort of roll the rhombus into a tube. Cut a piece of tape of a suitable size and stick it on the folded corners, securing them in this position. On the sides of the final tube you will see the remaining diamonds of the workpiece.

5. Turn the diamond workpiece over to the other side - the first tube will go down, facing the work surface, so be careful not to press on the workpiece so as not to flatten it. In the same way, pry up the corners of the new inner diamond - the one next to the one you just folded into a tube - and in the same way tape the corners together at the top. You will receive another tube, but larger and with the sides cut out.

6. Turn the diamond blank over again - now the very first tube will face you again, and again pick up the right and left free ends of the new one - closest to the last used diamond - and connect them again. Do the same with the last, outer diamond. As a result, you will get 4 “tubes”, 2 in front and 2 in back.

7. Repeat steps 2 through 6 with all remaining squares. You will receive 6 snowflake "petals".

8. Take the corner - any of the two remaining petals - of 3 of the 6 petals, and fasten them together with a stapler. Make a small gap from the edge of the ends before pinning them together. Do the same with the three remaining petals. Now you have in your hands 2 parts of the future snowflake, each of which consists of 3 “petals”.

9. Using a stapler, fasten the 2 resulting parts together. You're almost done!

10. Finally, in the place on the sides where the petals touch each other, staple them together. This way you will be sure that the snowflake will retain its shape in any situation. Instead of a stapler, you can fasten it on the sides with tape or good glue (one that does not turn yellow and does not appear on the paper when it dries) - they are less noticeable.

Add-ons:

If you want to make a bigger snowflake, just use bigger squares. It will probably be better if in this case you cut not 3 lines on each side of the triangle, but more, and make the inner small triangle smaller (divide the fold line not into 3 parts, but into 5, for example) - see step 2;

Color variations: If you want to make the decoration more vibrant, use colored paper. The most interesting snowflakes are made from two-color paper, when one side of the sheet is, say, red, and the other is white - or any other color. Even a special wrapping christmas paper with a picture can be of great use to you here. Try sticking foil on one side of the squares or using another - more durable - glitter paper on its own;

You can always carefully paint finished snowflakes, stick small stickers on them, and apply adhesive-based glitter on them. Adhesive rhinestones and miniature buttons - in small quantities and not heavy - are also suitable. Just remember that it is almost impossible to store these snowflakes - they will not last until the future New Year holidays, they are too fragile - so do not use anything on snowflakes that is too expensive and may be useful to you somewhere else;

Be patient. It is with this type of needlework that you cannot rush;

To make something extra voluminous and fantastic, put 2 such snowflakes on top of each other and fasten the petals in the center and each other - so you will have two petals in each direction;

For small snowflakes, you may find it easier to use double-sided tape instead of a stapler. But it also depends on the type of paper you use - smooth paper probably won’t be held in place by double-sided tape; but at the same time, snowflakes made from such paper will live for 1-2 years, or even more.

To create a festive atmosphere, each of us tries to decorate our home and workplace for the New Year. Snowflakes are perhaps the most common decoration. Required tools and materials

In order to make a three-dimensional snowflake, we will need:

- double-sided color or White paper. Even wrapping paper can be used. And if you want to make a colored snowflake, but there is no paper of a suitable shade, then you can paint sheets of white paper with watercolors, and then cut out snowflakes from them;
- good cutting scissors;
- a simple pencil, ruler;
- office stapler, tape or glue.

Manufacturing stages

Preparatory stage. We take sheets of paper and make even squares out of them. For each snowflake you need 6 such paper squares with a side length of 10 to 20 cm (depending on what kind of snowflakes you want to cut out - large or small). By the way, for small snowflakes you can use thin paper. But thin paper is not suitable for large snowflakes - the products will not hold their shape.

Step one. Take one paper square and fold it in half diagonally. You should have a triangle in your hands. We do the same with the remaining five blanks.

Step two. We arm ourselves with a simple pencil and a ruler and begin to draw lines on the triangles. We draw lines parallel to the edges of the triangle, placing them at equal distances from each other. Next, we make cuts along the lines with scissors so that about 3 mm remains to the center of the triangle.

Step three. Actually, half of the work is ready. There is no need to cut anything else, we will glue it. We unfold the triangle (that is, give it its original square shape) and roll up its central part into a tube, connecting the edges of the cut. We fix the tube along the edge with tape or glue. From experience, I must say that tape holds the edges more tightly.

Step four. After the edges of the tube are securely fixed, we turn the square over so that the glued part is at the bottom, and on the wrong side we bring the edges of the next cut together, making another tube. Again, fix the edges, lubricating them with glue, or gluing a strip of tape.

Similarly, we glue all the cuts on the square. That's it, the first ray of our future three-dimensional snowflake is ready!

We repeat all the manipulations, starting from step three, with the remaining squares and make 5 more rays.

Step five. We connect the tops of the rays with a stapler, 3 pieces each. These will be the top and bottom of the snowflake.

Step six. Use a stapler to carefully fasten the bottom and top of the snowflake.

Step seven. In order for the product to better hold its shape, we fix the adjacent edges of the snowflake with a stapler.

We took white paper, and the snowflake turned out to be the traditional white color.

But you can make a multi-colored snowflake, each ray of which will have its own shade.

A ready-made snowflake, made by yourself, can be decorated with sparkles, sequins, finely chopped foil, etc.

We suggest decorating your home for the New Year with homemade New Year's paraphernalia. Everyone knows how to cut out a simple snowflake, but not many people know how to make three-dimensional snowflake from paper. 5. Needle.
6. PVA glue.

To make one snowflake you will need to cut out ten circles. To cut perfectly even circles, you need to use some kind of round object as a template. For example, a CD, a large cup, etc. are perfect for this.

So, we put sheets of paper together, trace a round object and cut out circles.

Now we mark the circles into 8 equal sectors and cut them along the intended lines, without cutting 1 cm to the center of the circle.

Now, using a pencil, we twist each of the sectors into cones, as can be seen in the photo. To prevent the cones from unfolding, their edges must be secured with glue. The ends of the cones can be made with holes or sharp - whichever you prefer.

This is what each workpiece with twisted sectors looks like:

Now pass the needle and thread through a piece of elastic, and then you need to string all the paper blanks onto it, piercing them in the middle. Pull the thread and remove the workpiece so that it takes the shape of a ball. Now place a second piece of elastic on the needle to compress the snowflake into the desired shape. After this, cut the thread.

You can do it a little differently. For example, I didn’t use elastic bands, but simply threaded the pieces onto a thread, and then threaded a bead through a needle and tied it off.

Perhaps you want to lay out such snowflakes to decorate the interior, then you can cut the thread, and if you are going to hang them on the Christmas tree, leave the thread and make a loop out of it.

This is such an interesting homemade New Year's toy (if you can call it that).

We will need:

1. 6 sheets of colored paper A4 size or larger.

All that remains is to collect the snowflake. First we glue the middle, then the side rays. You can use a stapler instead of glue.

How to cut a snowflake from paper

Transforming a humble piece of paper into a luxurious snowflake is surprisingly easy. All we need for New Year's magic is paper, scissors, beautiful schemes, pencil, some free time and inspiration!

First, we make a blank for the future snowflake from a square sheet of paper, as shown in the picture below. Using different patterns, you can cut out hundreds, if not thousands, of snowflakes of the most unpredictable shapes and patterns from such a triangular base.

Using a simple pencil, we transfer the drawings according to the diagrams onto the base and cut out snowflakes from paper.

How to make a 3D paper snowflake

Making a three-dimensional snowflake out of paper is not much more difficult than a regular paper one, but it looks much more impressive. You can decorate a Christmas tree with these amazing 3D snowflakes or simply hang them in your room to create a New Year's atmosphere. Six square sheets of paper, scissors, glue, a stapler, 15 minutes of free time and a little inspiration - that’s probably all we need to assemble a beautiful 3D snowflake for the New Year. If desired, the snowflake can be made multi-colored by making individual elements from colored paper. Until you get the hang of it, practice on regular white paper, especially since snow-white classics are always relevant in New Year’s decor.

1. First of all, we make six such blank squares for the future snowflake. To do this, you can download and print blanks for a small or large snowflake. To ensure that a large snowflake holds its shape, it is advisable to use high-density paper. We fold each square in half diagonally and make cuts with scissors, moving from the fold to the center line.

We open the square folded diagonally with cuts and place it in front of us as shown in the picture on the left. We twist the first row of strips into a tube and fasten them with glue.

Turn the snowflake over to the other side and take the next two strips: connect and fasten with glue. We continue in the same spirit: turn the snowflake over and fasten the remaining strips. As a result of these manipulations, we should end up with a bizarrely twisted element like this.

This is one of the rays of our future snowflake, and we need exactly six of them! Therefore, we do the same with the remaining five square blanks. We connect three rays of a snowflake in the middle with a stapler. We connect the remaining three rays in the same way. Now we connect the two large parts together.

Our beauty is almost ready! All that remains is to connect the snowflake with glue in those places where the rays touch each other so that the snowflake holds its shape well.

Eat! Phew, we did it! Well, aren't we great?! Now I wish I could make it multi-colored...

How to make a 3D snowflake using origami technique

The iconic snowflake by Dennis Walker has won more than one heart with its sophistication and beauty, and has left more than one amateur origamist in a stupor. What do you say, let's not let a piece of paper intimidate us? Or weak?! If you decide to test your strength, pictures will help you, step by step instructions and video master classes from Sarah Adams. You won't get lost! You will probably have to spend at least an hour on your first snowflake. Once you understand the principle of creating snowflakes, things will go faster. And one more nuance: the thinner the paper, the more elegant the snowflakes will turn out. Translucent snowflakes that transmit light will look great on a window. Well, you can practice on regular office paper.

Before we start creating the snowflake itself, we need to turn a square or rectangular piece of paper into a hexagon. This is one of the most crucial moments on which the success of the whole venture depends.

1. Fold the paper in half twice to create clear fold lines.

2. Fold one corner with its apex towards the center. Bend the top flap towards the edge. Now we have two additional fold lines.

3. Fold the paper in half again as shown in the left picture. To get the figure from the right image, we use two X marks as reference points and bend valve A along the dotted line.

4. Combining the red and blue lines, bend valve B. The result of this manipulation should be a shape similar to a heart.

5. Using scissors, cut off part of the workpiece along the blue line, focusing on two X points as reference centers. For further work we only need part A - the hexagon.

6. Bend one side of the hexagon towards the center to create a fold line. We do the same with all six sides. Now inside our hexagon there are many fold lines forming small triangles.

7. Fold the edge of the hexagon towards the center again. Using the fold lines we made in the previous step, fold flap A to flap B, as in the left image. Similarly, we fold the other sides of the hexagon until we get a figure that resembles a pinwheel in shape. The last flap may cause you some slight confusion as it will be hidden under the fold. We pull it out so that we have 6 valves sticking out, as in the image on the right.

8. Lightly press the fold of each pocket with your finger to create something similar to the image in the center. Which valve is on top does not matter.

9. To make fold lines for the next step, on each laid out pocket we bend two blue corners to the central part of the dotted line. The resulting figure should look like the picture on the right.

10. To open the fold lines, carefully unfold the folds that we made in step 8. In each pocket, we combine the blue X point with the red X point. The fold lines obtained in the ninth step will help us with this. When we do this operation with all six pockets, our workpiece will look like the picture on the right.

11. Turn the workpiece over and bend each corner of the hexagon towards the center. Each adjacent fold should form a small flap. Let it remain on top, do not hide it under the fold. If you get a figure similar to the picture on the right, then you did everything right.

12. Press the fold line of each of the small flaps to create new fold lines needed for the next step.

13. We turn out the folds that we made in step 11, hiding the flaps from below.

14. Turn the workpiece over, turn each corner as far from the center as possible and bend it. We should have 12 valves - 6 small and 6 large.

15. Turn the workpiece over and you will see small valves between the two large valves. We push each small valve forward. We should now have six diamonds.

16. For each half of the diamond, pull the blue edge to the center of the diamond and press the fold to the edge. As a result, we will get a figure like the one in the picture on the right. It remains to repeat this action 12 times and our snowflake is ready!

How to make a kirigami snowflake out of paper

Kirigami is one of the types of origami, the main distinctive feature which is that during the manufacturing process of the model it is allowed to use scissors and cut paper. The method of cutting unusual kirigami snowflakes is not very different from making ordinary paper snowflakes, but they look much more creative and interesting. First of all, we make a template like this, with the help of which even a child can make the correct six-pointed snowflake. What might you need to make a snowflake with a 3D effect?

Prepare a square sheet of paper of the desired color, a pencil and ruler, scissors or a sharp paper knife, and glue. The work of making 3-D snowflakes is very painstaking and requires a lot of patience.

The first step is to draw a sheet of paper into squares. We will need 6 identical squares. Then the following diagram is applied. It can be printed.

Fold the square in half diagonally and transfer the diagram as shown in the figure. Fold in half again.

The next step is to cut parallel lines. The cuts should be made in such a way that they are directed towards each other, but do not converge completely.

We connect and glue the corners of the first small square.

Then we turn it over and glue the corners of the next square.

And so on in order until all the corners are glued together.

To make the snowflake voluminous, you need to very carefully glue the corners of all the squares. The result is six snowflakes, which, when glued together, form a three-dimensional 3-D figure.

We connect the corners of all the blanks together.

In order for the figure to keep its shape and not fall apart, you need to additionally glue the sides of the snowflake.

It can be colored only on one side, but you can choose paper with rich colors on both sides.

Take an A4 sheet and fold it as shown in the photo.
